What I Enjoyed About Last Week
Sports Championships This past week seemed to be when high school fall sports started their playoffs; for a pastor working with students, this means sitting on the sidelines in the freezing cold cheering your students on. Last Tuesday it was a public school girls soccer team that won convincingly against a rival they lost to twice this season. On Thursday it was another public school girls volleyball team playing in the playoffs. Unfortunately they lost, but at least we were inside and not freezing! Then on Saturday was the big game: the local Christian school boys soccer team made it to the championship game in Cortland. They did not win, but it was a hard fought game, and they did walk away with the 2nd place trophy. As these games wrap up, it reminds me of one benefit of winter sports: they are all inside!
