Monday Update #25 – August 5, 2013

Note: Every Monday I will be posting about what I have been reading, listening, writing, and doing in my life. Hopefully it gives a little insight into my life. Enjoy!

What I Enjoyed This Week

My Niece! On Thursday, right after returning home from seeing family in Ocean City and Lancaster, PA, we got word that my sister had her baby! Named Kaylee Anne, this is the first niece for Megan and I. We quickly went back down to Ocean City—the 3rd weekend in a row we were in Ocean City!—so we could meet Kaylee. We also helped prep my sister’s house for their return home.

What I’m Reading (Books)

I am currently reading:

  • 7 Vital Components of Church Revitalization by Ron Edmondson

This experience is giving me the opportunity, fueled by this platform, to speak not only to church planters (who I still love by the way), but also those who are attempting church revitalization. In the process. I’m learning some things. There appear to be some vital elements for a healthy revitalization to occur.

  • Monogamy’s Boost to Human Evolution from NY Times

“Monogamy is a problem,” said Dieter Lukas of the University of Cambridge in a telephone news conference this week. As Dr. Lukas explained to reporters, he and other biologists consider monogamy an evolutionary puzzle.

  • The Legend of The Oregon Trail by Mental Floss

Three student teachers changed the educational game industry from inside a janitor’s closet.
